One year later - Prom Dress Consignment

It's that time of year again!

Our first Prom Dress Consignment sale was very successful last year in that we sold 40 dresses and donated money to the After Prom parties of the consignor's choice. A special "thank you" to Tracy Davidson and NBC 10 for featuring our Prom Dress Consignment sale in the news.

Our 2nd Annual Prom Dress Consignment event will be held on Saturday, March 5th at The Growing Tree, 114 W State Street in downtown Kennett Square.

We are collecting dresses now (long and short) and will continue to sell through the month of April.

Our winter hours are: Monday through Friday 9:30 to 5, Saturday 10 to 4.

Prom Dresses can be dropped off without an appointment unless you have more than 5.

Today we were visited by NBC 10 Tracy Davidson for a story on our prom-dress sale! Here's what we have so far. We're accepting dresses until 2/15/10~walk-in's welcome. Tracy Davidson discovered Precious Ponchos when she was here and she had to take one home with her! It's been a great day at The Growing Tree!

Icy Parking Lot at The Growing Tree-Park on the Street

Good Morning!

Those of you who are familiar with our sloped parking lot will not be surprised to hear that it is currently treacherous resulting from melting snow and ice. Please park on the street and use our main entrance for the next few weeks and any time we experience winter weather over the next few months. Sidewalks in front of the downtown shops are all clear. If you wish to use the parking lot please call ahead 610-444-8484 and speak with us to check on the condition of the lot and walkway. Thank you for your understanding.

Winter Wonderland!

The Growing Tree is currently open, but not for long. We already sold a few pairs of snow boots and some snow suits today. Call ahead if you plan on coming in 610-444-8484. If you get the voice mail we're closed. Don't eat the yellow snow!

These boots were made for walking!

A pair of black suede UGG boots, size 12 just came walking through my door...and some brand-new Oilily canvas high-top sneakers-size 10...and two pairs of Dansko patent leather clog type shoes-size 9 and size 12! There's clothing in the bag too...Cakewalk, Sweet Potatoes, CachCach, Lilly-oh my! Should be priced and tagged soon!

Today I received a pink velour Barbie dress, size 4/5 and with it is a matching pink velour dress for the Barbie doll. $10.00 New with tags! Also received some beautiful black evening dresses, beaded tops and pants for the ladies shop in sizes 6-10.

A Sad Week at The Growing Tree & Mushroom Cap

If you've been to our shop you probably recognize the man in this photo holding Keira. Her great-grandfather, Thomas A. Kelly, died Friday evening peacefully at his home. Our stores will be closed on Thursday December 3 and Friday December 4, 2009. We want to thank all of our customers and friends who have called, sent, and stopped by with condolences.
